Tribal Thrasher is a concept design for an indigenous skateboarding magazine. This magazine follows the importance of skate culture throughout Native country. The positive impact it has on the community keeps kids out of trouble and fosters the importance of having a place in the world.

The typography is manipulated to replicate the geometric forms of the Northwest Coastal Indigenous Designs. At the same time is takes inspiration from the graffiti culture in skate culture.

The images are taken from the Southern tribes down in New Mexico and Arizona of the Hopi and Diné tribes. This magazine highlights Naiomi Glasses (top left image)  who found her passion for skateboarding through community and healing. Douglas Miles and Son created Apache Skateboarding (middle image)  a company that makes hand painted skateboards and appearal. The companies designs promote the importance of pride and well-being.
